What are polynomials and how do we classify them?
Polynomial is an algebraic expression with terms separated using the operators + and - in which the exponents of variables are always non-negative integers.
Polynomials are categorized according to the number of terms and the degree present.

How do we add/subtract polynomials?
Adding polynomials only takes two steps by:
Placing like terms together
Add the like terms
Subtracting polynomials is similar to adding polynomials, with the only change being reverse the sign of each term we are subtracting, then add as usual.

How do we multiply monomials by polynomials?
To multiply a polynomial by a monomial, use the distributive property: multiply each term of the polynomial by the monomial. This involves multiplying coefficients and adding exponents of the appropriate variables.

What does F-O-I-L mean?
"A technique for distributing two binomials. The letters FOIL stand for First, Outer, Inner, Last. First means multiply the terms which occur first in each binomial. Then Outer means multiply the outermost terms in the product."

What is factoring?
Let’s start out by talking a little bit about just what factoring is. Factoring is the process by which we go about determining what we multiplied to get the given quantity. We do this all the time with numbers. There are several ways to factor polynomials, they include:
Greatest Common Factor (GCF)
Difference of Squares
Perfect Square Trinomials
Trinomials with a = 1
LeRoux Method (trinomials with a≠1)
Grouping Method
