What is slope?
The slope of a line is a measure of its steepness.Â
Mathematically, slope is calculated as "rise over run" (change in y divided by change in x).

What is slope-intercept form?
The slope-intercept form of a straight line is used to find the equation of a line. For the slope-intercept formula, we have to know the slope of the line and the intercept cut by the line with the y-axis. Let us consider a straight line of slope 'm' and y-intercept 'b'. The slope intercept form equation for a straight line with a slope, 'm', and 'b' as the y-intercept can be given as:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â y = mx + b.

How do we graph using intercepts?
To graph a line, find the intercepts, if they exist, and draw a straight line through them. Use a straightedge to create the line and include arrows on either end to indicate that the line extends infinitely in either direction. Horizontal and vertical lines do not always have both x- and y-intercepts.

What is point-slope form?
Point-slope form of a line is determined by the slope of the line and any point that exists on the line. The purpose of the form is to describe the equation of the entire line when given a point on the line and the slope.

How do we find parallel and perpendicular lines when given slope?
Step 1: Identify the slope of both of your equations.
Step 2: Compare the slope values for both of your equations. If the slope values are the same, then the two lines are parallel. If one of the slope values is the negative reciprocal of the other, then the two lines are perpendicular.
